Short version: your files never leave your Mac, this website doesn’t track you, and we collect only what’s needed to sell iPdf Pro and answer your email.
iPdf, the app
iPdf reads and writes files on your Mac. It never uploads them, and it doesn’t collect analytics or usage data. It goes online for only two things:
- Update checks. At most once a day, iPdf downloads its update list from buildgremlin.com, and a new version of itself if there is one. Like any download, this shares your IP address and iPdf’s version number with the server. You can turn automatic updates off in the window that appears when you open iPdf.
- Pro license check. When you enter an iPdf Pro license key, iPdf sends the key to Polar once to confirm it’s valid. After that, the key is stored on your Mac and isn’t checked again.
This website
buildgremlin.com uses no cookies, no analytics and no trackers, and loads nothing from other companies. Our host, Cloudflare, handles each visit and keeps standard technical logs, such as IP addresses, to run and protect the site.
Buying iPdf Pro
Purchases are handled by Polar, which collects your name, email and payment details to process the order. We receive your name, email and order details from Polar so we can provide your license and support. See Polar’s privacy policy for how they handle your data.
If you write to support@buildgremlin.com, we keep your email so we can reply and help you later.
What we don’t do
